Trinity Sunday marks the beginning of the Season after Pentecost. Although the Bible never uses the term “Trinity” to speak of God, many images and names are used to describe the variety of ways God relates to us and to the world. Today’s scripture passages and prayers reflect some of that variety. We are invited to experience God’s power and majesty, and to proclaim God’s love in witness and action in the world. Two of the readings (Second Corinthians 13:11-13, Matthew 28:16-20) use trinitarian formulas as blessings, similar to what we use in our worship services.
Also, June 10 marks the anniversary of the service that marked the formation of The United Church of Canada, 96 years ago!
This week’s service will be prerecorded and posted on the website as a Live Stream at 10:30 AM. This options includes the chance to chat with others who are on line.
The recording will include the texts for hymns, etc., and the Service Outline will be posted on the Minister’s Blog on the website. The service includes the sacrament of Communion, so you may want to have some bread and drink handy.
